| Comment | The RS500 and RS Aero both have the 2023 Open Dutch Championship in Bruinisse. The event will take place on Lake Grevelingen from September 16 & 17, 2023. RS stands for the new sailing: With spectacular boats and social events, the RS class offers a new way of sailing. At a time when the water sport is aging, the RS class is on the rise. The world is changing and so is water sports. The youth wants more challenge. Also the sailing schools see that the demand changes to more challenging boats but also World Sailing (International Water Sports Federation) responds to this change by introducing the ladies skiff. The older models are being replaced by fast and spectacular boats. This leads to more sensation for the sailor and viewer. RS is responding to this demand. At RS events, at least as much attention is paid to the organization on the shore as on the water. (Inter)nationally we know the RS feeling with lots of fun and competitive sailing with the different classes. The ONK RS Class is expected to attract even more participants next year as 2022. The expectation is 75 to 100 boats and thus 125-140 sailors will attract both regionally and from the Netherlands and possibly even beyond. Because it is an Open Championship, participants from other countries may also participate. Will you be there too? |
