| Comment | The first weekend of October will witness a true spectacle at the Grevelingenmeer near Bruinisse. During the Open Dutch Skiff Trophy, high-performance sailboats will compete. These boats often come equipped with a gennaker and trapeze to maintain balance. All types of skiff sailboats are welcome to participate in the open class, competing based on a handicap system. This system ensures a fair comparison of different sailboat types under similar conditions by applying a time correction to their sailing time on a course. Besides the open skiff class, races will be held in the RS500 one-design class. The starting time on Saturday is at 12:00, while on Sunday, it is at 10:30. The goal is to conduct four races each day. The event has an international roster with sailors from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, and England. Around 60 boats are expected to participate in this prestigious event. Apart from the competition, there will be a convivial captains' dinner on Saturday evening. The program is as follows: **Saturday, October 5** 10:00 — Skippers' briefing 12:00 — First start 18:30 — Regatta dinner **Sunday, October 6** 10:30 — First start 15:30 - 16:30 — Prize giving 17:00 — Farewell until next year! We expect good fleets of Musto, RS100, RS700, 49er, RS800, ISO, RS Aero, and RS500. **Entry fee:** €55 for single-handers / €65 for double-handers **Lasagna dinner at sailors' inn:** €19,50 (please reserve with entry) If bank transfer is not possible, you can pay cash upon arrival at a special desk on-site. By entering the regatta, competitors agree to the following: The regatta organization does not accept any liability for any damages and/or accidents that may occur during participation in the Open Dutch Skiff Trophy. Competitors declare they are insured for damage inflicted on others. Each participating boat must have valid liability insurance of at least €2,000,000 per occurrence. To manage the event, information provided by competitors will be held in a database accessible to Skiff Benelux and Aquavitesse. The handling of personal information and images will comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation Legislation effective from May 2018. Competitors acknowledge that the organization will take photos and videos and agree that these may be used selectively and with integrity in subsequent publications. |
